Device CR

This device uses X-rays that are directed from a source onto a special cassette. The cassette contains phosphor plates of various sizes that can be used multiple times. After approximately 300 to 600 uses, the plates need to be replaced. These phosphor plates have a protective layer against impact and a reflective layer, and they are also sensitive to light.

The device operates as follows: X-rays are first directed onto the cassette. Different areas of the phosphor plate absorb energy based on the energy of the incoming photons. The cassette is then inserted into a processor within the device to separate the phosphor plate. A laser is projected onto the plate, causing it to emit light. The laser scans each point on the plate, causing the absorbed energy to be released as light, which is then detected by a special lamp and converted from analog to digital signals. The images are quickly read and analyzed by the device, and displayed on the computer within less than a minute. If needed, the device can be connected to a printer to print the images. Finally, ultraviolet light is directed onto the phosphor plate to erase any remaining images, allowing the plate to be reused. The maximum speed of this method is 60 plates per hour, and the minimum speed is 20 plates per hour.
