The CT-Scan (Computed Tomography Scan) system operates based on X-ray principles and digital image processing algorithms. - Positioning the animal on the CT table:
The animal is placed on a specialized movable table. To prevent motion artifacts, general anesthesia or mild sedation is usually administered, ensuring clear and noise-free imaging.
- X-ray emission:
X-rays are emitted from multiple angles toward the body. After passing through the animal, the rays are detected by sensors (detectors) positioned opposite the X-ray source.
- Data acquisition:
The detectors measure the intensity of absorbed and transmitted X-rays, converting this information into raw data that is sent to the computer.
- Computer processing:
Using advanced algorithms, the computer processes the raw data into cross-sectional slices, which are then reconstructed into 3D images. These images enable the veterinarian to view and analyze internal structures from any angle.
